To ensure our funding aligns with our mission and focus, the WNC Futures Fund awards grants by invitation only rather than accepting unsolicited proposals.

Our grant cycle follows a structured approach:

  • January

    We select an annual focus area based on the evolving needs of Western North Carolina.

  • February

    We identify and reach out to nonprofits making a meaningful impact in the chosen field, inviting them to submit letters of interest.

  • May

    After reviewing letters of interest, we invite selected organizations to submit formal proposals.

  • September

    We award grants to projects that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and lasting impact in our region.
